CCWCC prides itself on its friendly and inclusive nature with a stated goal that for anyone who wishes to play cricket, we give them the opportunity to do so. With over 200 members across our Men’s, Women’s and Youth sections and an age range from 4 to 60 there is a place for everyone. And the Bar’s not bad either 😊. Get in touch and give cricket a go.
Crowthorne and Crown Wood Cricket club was formed when two clubs Crowthorne and Crown Wood merged in 2014 and we haven’t looked back. Our aim is to make cricket enjoyable, accessible and affordable to anyone who wishes to play.
And we must be doing something right – our membership is growing every year. We have three thriving sections across the Men, Women and Youth through which we can offer cricket to those who want to play. We support cricket 365(ish 😊) days a year, not just in the summer months but also through indoor winter leagues and nets across all sections.
With a wonderful family friendly social scene based at St Sebastians we are fortunate to be able to boast a wonderful club house and bar which is more often than not packed on a Friday (Youth practice supported by Club Qualified and also Professional coaches) and Saturday. Many members will stay after a game or come down to watch and enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine soaking up the ambience of a woodland cricket ground with people from all walks of life. We all have one thing in common – our love of cricket, the rest really doesn’t matter!
We compete at many different levels and formats with a team for everyone.
We have 5 men’s League teams, where we are represented in the BCMB Championship Division by the Men’s 1st XI, the Berkshire League Premier Division by our 2nd XI with the 3rds and our 4ths development team also in the Berkshire League and a midweek XI in the Berkshire 20:20 Division 1.
The Women’s section supports both Hardball and Softball cricket to cater for all standards and takes part in the Home Counties League Div 2 and T20 competitions, ECB Cup and Plate and the BCF Softball performance league.
With over 80 youth matches played every year across U9, U11, U13 and U15 age categories both Girls and Boys youth players who want to are given the opportunity to play inter-club matches and two training sessions a week if you wish. We employ professional coaches in addition to our qualified club coaches to support our youth members’ development with a key focus and emphasis on enjoyment. Unsurprisingly this has led to numerous league and cup successes and strong representation at the Berkshire Country Cricket Hub. We also run ECB All Stars and Dynamos programmes.
Additionally transition of youth players into adult cricket is an important aspect of the club cricket and our pathways are carefully managed through the Sunday Friendly sides the Womens 2nd X1 and softball teams and then into the League via the 4th XI for adult hardball.
We also have two Sunday Friendly sides which cater for all sections and gives an opportunity for whole families to play together. It also gives less experienced players the chance to play with some of the best in the club in a friendly and not (too) competitive setting enjoying some of the most scenic grounds in Berkshire and surrounding areas.
With an electronic scoreboard and frogbox, even if you can’t make it down to the ground you can follow the score and watch the live stream if you want to keep up to date.
